"Donnie Mae" named after Jones Craig "Ham" Defoe's sister-in law Donnie Mae Ingram. The car was originally owned by a group composed of: J. R. Page, Ham Defoe, Hassell Spears, Jimmy Beasley and Glennas Wade. The group had rented the garage (where James Saw Shop is now located) on Park Avenue north. J. R. said that they picked up an engine that was in good shape to modify. The problem was that they started with a 85 hp instead of a 100 hp. Ham eventually bought out the rest of the group to be sole owner.
